Members plan the details for this annual event, which is held the third week in September. Responsibilities include soliciting sponsorship, donations, meals, prizes, contests and event details. We meet once a month, starting in April. Proceeds from this event benefit the Chamber’s Educational Scholarship Fund, which provides three scholarships each year for students.
Members plan the details concerning the Chamber's annual Fishing Derby; held the first Saturday in June. Responsibilities include securing sponsorships, food vendors, prizes and volunteers. This community event draws over 300 people (mostly families) from Hoffman Estates and the surrounding communities.
CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE
This committee recognizes businesses that go above and beyond for their employees, the community and the Chamber. This group also serves to recognize the heart and soul of the Chamber, our volunteers. The Celebration of Excellence Awards dinner is held in January.
BON APPETIT TASTING FESTIVAL
Members plan the details regarding this popular April community event. The committee secures restaurant/distillery participation, marketing and promotion. Featured is a cupcake competition between Harper College and Elgin Community College using Tate & Lyle’s “Splenda.” This event draws over 350 attendees.
This committee works to provide open communication between the business community, area governmental bodies and elected officials. They also keep the general membership informed on issues and legislation affecting area businesses.
This committee hosts new member receptions, ribbon cuttings and grand openings. The members of this committee are the Ambassadors for the Chamber and mentors for our new members.
TOOLS FOR SUCCESS PROGRAM
Volunteers coordinate school supply donations from businesses for our under-privileged children in our community. Donated schools supplies are distributed anonymously through school personnel throughout the local school districts.
MARKETING/PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE
This committee designs, promotes and distributes all marketing pieces for Chamber events via print, website and social media outlets.
